In recent years, Hong Kong has experienced various emergencies. In early 2023 alone, there were two shack fires in Tsuen Wan, leaving 30 residents homeless due to their tin shacks being completely destroyed. With the government's arrangement, they were relocated to temporary shelters. Our volunteers and staff assessed the situation on-site and distributed warm clothing, replacement clothes, epidemic prevention supplies, bedding, food packs, rice cookers, or cash vouchers for daily necessities to those affected, to help them settle in the temporary shelters as soon as possible.

The unprecedented heavy rainstorm in September last year, with scenes of heavy rain and flooding in various districts, is still vivid in the minds of many Hong Kong citizens. We have mobilized over 200 staff and volunteers to provide relief materials in the temporary shelters ,first aid and psychological support service to those affected.

'Local Disaster Relief Services' are dedicated to providing appropriate support to local disaster-affected individuals, emergency incidents, and those impacted by climate change. Services include pre-disaster warnings and preparations, emergency responses after disasters, assistance in early recovery stages, providing necessary supplies and comprehensive emergency services to help disaster-affected individuals meet their daily needs and resume normal life, assisting them through difficult times, rebuilding their lives, and bringing warmth and comfort to the victims.
