The Hong Kong Red Cross has been serving Hong Kong for over 70 years, and among its long-standing services is the "Tracing Service," which assist individuals to locate and re-establish communication with lost family members who are separated by natural or man-made disasters. The service conducts search operations through mass media, government departments, public and private institutions, as well as the tracing network of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, assisting in the reunification and reestablishment of contact for displaced families.

One of our enquirers Silky parents' divorced when Silky was young. When she was 7 years old, her mother suddenly took her away from home, and since then, she never had the opportunity to see her father again. Whenever she mentioned her father, it would trigger her mother's emotions, and she would even be scolded, so she eventually stopped bringing it up. She always missed and loved her father, but she had no way to contact him. On the other hand, her father, Thomas, also missed his daughter dearly and tried every possible means to find out the whereabouts of Silky and her mother, but unfortunately, his efforts were in vain. As a result, the father and daughter completely lost contact for 33 years.

Finally, through our "Tracing Service," the father and daughter were reunited, and they could celebrate their first Father's Day together after being separated for 33 years.

In the vast sea of people, the longing for family and the hope for reunion are buried within the hearts of those searching for their relatives. Your support can help dispersed families rebuild their family connections and enable them to fulfill their dreams of reunion as soon as possible.
