The "Hong Kong Red Cross University Club" (RCU) organized by the HKRC was established in December 2022. RCU aims to attract students from 11 local universities and develop them into humanitarian leaders with international humanitarian vision and a passion to serve the society. In the long term. RCU aims to promote youth development and participation. In 2023, RCU recruited 11 members to plan services and activities to promote the spirit of the Red Cross and the concept of caring for society to students. For example, overseas service group focusing on promoting the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the elderly and animal-assisted therapy in Taiwan and local service focusing on the mental health of children with rare disease in Hong Kong. Other activities include first-aid training, mental health workshops, and life and death education etc.

 

This program continue to provide diverse development opportunities for young people. Meanwhile, by showcasing the young people's skills, visions, volunteerism and potentials, the interaction and mutual understanding between the society and young people could be enhanced. RCU aims to enable students to meet friends with common ideals through activities that accompany them on the path of humanity in addition to gaining a better understanding of humanitarian work.
